The Culligan store in Kendallville was started by a single proprietor in 1947, serving Noble County, Indiana. In 1966 the business was incorporated and became Culligan of Kendallville. The owner of the Culligan store in Garrett, Indiana purchased Culligan of Kendallville in 1971 and consolidated both stores into one location in Kendallville which would now serve both Noble and Dekalb counties. The Kendallville store continued to grow and started serving Lagrange County in 1974 when the Topeka, Indiana store was purchased and consolidated into Kendallville. In 1994 the need for an office to serve Dekalb County became necessary and a satellite office was opened in Auburn. In 1995 Culligan of Kendallville had a name change and became Clean Water Inc., DBA Culligan of Kendallville and still remains that way today.

Culligan of Kendallville continued on with its growth by purchasing two more store locations. In May 2006 Kendallville purchased the Culligan store in Rensselaer, Indiana serving Jasper and Pulaski counties and in July 2006 Kendallville purchased the Culligan store in Valparaiso, Indiana serving Porter County. Both stores had been in business since the late 1940’s. In 2008 both the Rensselaer and the Valparaiso stores were consolidated into one store location in Kouts, Indiana and became Culligan of Kouts serving Porter, Jasper and Pulaski counties. By consolidating both stores we were able to combine the knowledge of the employees and pool together our resources to provide our customers with the high quality of service that is expected from Culligan.

For over 60 years, Culligan of Kendallville and Kouts' mission has been to deliver high-quality water treatment products that will benefit every part of customers' lives. We hope to raise the quality of life by purifying its most essential element: water.
